A British man has been killed in an incident of abuse that involves a vehicle in the caravan of Kenya William Ruto.
The man, who has been appointed as Edgar Charles Frederick, 79, died on Thursday after being beaten in the accident on a main road in the capital, Nairobi.
The Police launched an investigation after the incident and arrested the driver of a support vehicle that was traveling as part of the official car convoy of President Routo.
Police spokesman Michael Muchiri told the BBC that Frederick had been visiting Kenya to see his sister and nephew who are residents of the country.
The victim’s next has been informed, and it is likely that an autopsy will take place later on Friday.
Police said the driver, who did not stop after the accident, would appear before the court after an investigation.
A spokesman for the high commission of the United Kingdom said the officials were aware of the reports and sought more information.
The videos published on social networks show a man with blue jeans and a light colored shirt that fall on the road outside an occupied commercial area.
Other images show the victim covered in a revised chal, known locally as Maasai Shuka.
Muchir told the BBC that the vehicle belonged to the regional administration and was providing support to the presidential details.
President Routo celebrated events in the vicinity of the accident scene on Thursday as part of the current political commitments with the public in the capital.
