Many Star Trek fans want to have the edge of their own galaxy … a way to enter the absorbing world of their favorite “strange new worlds” and star heroes. One iconic actor, however Deep Space Nine pointed out that producers more or less did Re -create one of the most brutal extraterrestrial planets on Earth and causes the cast to suffer even more than their characters. The planet is “Cardassia IV” and after filming scenes for the premiere of the 2 DS9 “The Homecoming”, actor Kira Nerys Nana Visitor noted that their shooting position Soledad Canyon “was the perfect Cardassia IV because it was like hell”.
Real Cardassia IV
IN Deep Space Nine The episode “The Homecoming” will decide to save a colleague Bajoran from a notorious prison camp at Cardassia IV. Cardassians are the equivalent of the Nazis to the show … In the meantime and their reputation in the universe for being vicious prisoners, viewers understood that Kira had her work cut out with this unconventional rescue mission. In real life, however, filming in Soledad Canyon meant that Nana visitor and other actors had to watch out for more practical threats such as snakes and bees, all while dealing with the heat that would shame Bajor.
Irony that the heat was last The producers feared when Cardassia IV scenes were fired. In fact, they were much more worried that the cast and the crew would receive errors of errors, and therefore recommended that everyone brought a marine breeze (it will remove the painful bit of bites). In these episodes, the Soledad Canyon was used to display other places than Cardassia IV. Unfortunately for the actors involved, Soledad Canyon still retained the heat that made him an ideal place for the Cardassian Prison Tabor (in space, these, these aliens really Love the heat). Being even worse is the fact that the heat was actually worse in the following episodes than it was for “The Homecoming”, which makes this one of the most hellish places in Star Trek’s history on the history of shooting.
