Dozens feared dead in the fire of the Northern Macedonia nightclub

It is feared that dozens of people have been killed in a fire club fire in Macedonia del Norte, according to local media reports.

The fire exploded in the early hours of Sunday at the Pulse Club in Kocani, a city about 100 km (60 miles) east of the capital, Skopje.

The images published on social networks show the building wrapped in flames, with smoke wavy in the night sky.

Local media say that up to 50 may have been killed and many more injured, but there is no official confirmation.

It is said that the fire started around 03:00 (02:00 GMT) during an performance of the DNA band, with the place still in flames hours later.

It was said that up to 1,500 attended the concert.
