In the main event on Saturday night, the southwest medium weight Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams, 18-1 (12) defeated former NABF champion and WBO Nabo Patrice Volny, 19-2 (13) for a unanimous decision of 12 rounds to capture the title of the continental Americas of the AMB in the Caribbean Royale in Orlando, Florida.
In the first two rounds, Williams controlled with his jab. In the third round due to Volny’s high guard, Williams went to the average section before making Volny drop her guard at the last minute.
In the fourth and fifth round, Volny returned well enough to take both rounds. Both mixed it well in the sixth round with Volny landing a fair advantage in the chin. In recent seconds, Williams shook Volny with a remaining half -minute with a left in the chin.
In the seventh round, he was close, with Williams causing Volny to drop her guard with body shots landing the left towards her chin. In the tenth round, Williams finished it with a right hook in Volny’s chin.
In the eleventh round, Williams had an advantage in a closed round, balancing Volny with an advantage in the chin in the last minute. In the twelfth and final Ronda, Williams dominated with half a dozen body shots at one point. Volny landed some blows.
The scores were 118-110, 116-112 and 115-113.
The super medium weight champion of the Nabo Nabo, Edgar ‘The elected one’ Berlanga, 23-1 (18) arrested Jonathan ‘butter’ González-Ortiz, 20-1-1 (16) at 2:31 of the first round of a 10.
In the last minute of the first round, a left Berlanga hook on the chin dropped it by an 8 content of the referee Chris Young. Seconds later, a right on the chin from Berlanga and Down left ‘González-Ortiz for another 8th count when he got up, was beaten by two bell blows before referee Young finally stopped.
Super Welter 2024 Olympian Omari Jones, 1-0 (1) knocked out Alessio Mastronunzio (14-6 (4) at 0:22 of the second of a 6.
In the first round, everything was Jones with the left eyebrow of Mastronunzio Cut. Jones landed five unanswered blows in the second round when referee Louis Pabon called a stop.
The super light Jamaine ‘The Technician’ Ortiz, 19-2-1 (9) defeated Yomar ‘The Majic’ Alamo, 22-4-1 (13) for a unanimous decision of ten round.
In the last minute of the first round, Alamo shook Ortiz with a left hook in the chin. In the room, Ortiz landed a left uppercut on his chin, putting Alamo against the strings.
In the sixth and seventh round, it was round trip with Ortiz having an advantage. In the eighth round, Ortiz had Alamo against the strings before Alamo landed on the left on his chin and left the ropes. In the ninth round with Ortiz’s right eye, near closing, he had a good round, having Alamo in the defense for the most part. In the tenth and last round, Ortiz continued to overcome all the round.
