The promoter Eddie Hearn says he wants to fight between Andy Cruz and the lightweight champion of the OMB Keyshawn Davis below. The promoter of Matchroom, Hearn, states that Keyshawn (13-0, 9 kos) does not have anyone who is available to fight now apart from his nemesis, Cruz (5-0, 2 kos).

Keyshawn captured the 135 -pound belt from the OMB last month, eliminating champion Denys Berinchyk in the fourth round on February 14 at Madison Square Garden in New York. Although Davis has talked about how to be the new OMB champion will change his life in terms of great fights falling into his lap, like Isaac ‘Pitbull’ CruzIt has not happened.
Unless Top Rank can get an offer large enough to attract Pitbull, there is no one popular enough for an interesting fight for Keyshawn. Maybe he doesn’t care. He has never fought against anyone popular since he became a professional and has spent most of the time talking about what life will be when he wins Gervonta Davis one of these days. He is always dreaming.
Keyshawn does not want to be built for a fight against the tank facing the best bell talents. He just wants the fight to be given on a silver plate based on his victories on lower level combatants.
The most realistic struggle for Keyshawn is Andy Cruz, his four times conqueror, but he will have to show some courage because he has not wished that he has not fought against the talented Cuban since he became a professional since he became a professional in 2023. Cruz has been calling him from the first day without luck, and there is no other way of looking at Keyshawn’s reluctance than the flat fear.
Cruz hit him four times in fans, and realizes that he will never beat him, regardless of how large it is. Keyshawn seems to be a medium weight soon, since it is huge after it is rehydrated by its fights. For his last fight against little Berinchyk, 36, resembled a medium junior weight on the night of the fight.
Poor Berinchyk never had a chance with such a big boy. It is a pity that the four sanctioning bodies do not have a 10 lb rehydration clause such as IBF because it makes it impossible for combatants who face weight stalkers.
Cruz occupies the #1 WBC, #3 IBF, #3 WBA and #9 WBO. Interestingly, Hearn is not pressing so that the lightweight champion of the WBC Shakur Stevenson fights against Cruz, but is understandable. Hearn is trying to align Gervonta Davis’s fight for Shakur, and the last thing he needs is for Andy Cruz to overcome him before making that fight.
“We want to push Andy Cruz to a great fight. There have been a couple of conversations about a possible fight in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia or a magazine show, ”said Eddie Hearn to @Cesarsada. “We would like to make a Keyshawn Davis fight. I look at the options for Keyshawn. Who is there for him to fight that is available?
“That is a great fight too,” Hearn said about Floyd Schofield as an option for Andy Cruz. “Schofield lost Shakur Stevenson’s fight. Why not fight Andy Cruz? It is a great fight. That fight would be in July, but we would like to recover it (Cruz) a little earlier.
“Obviously, he just fought in January (against Omar Salcido). May or June would be good for Andy, ”said Hearn.
Floyd Schofield would probably not want to fight Andy Cruz because he has to know that Shakur Stevenson will eventually look at him a bone. He will not want to spoil his possibilities of a payment day against Shakur fighting against Cruz and be educated.
