Sister Wives’ Meri jokes about why Kody wants to walk down her aisle


Mary Brown she admitted that she “doesn’t understand a lot of things” coming from her ex-husband Cody Brown‘s mouth – including his comments about her future wedding.

During the November 24 episode Sister’s WivesKody, 55, helped Meri, 53, move out of her home in Arizona and to her place in Utah. After breaking down in tears over the “end of an era” between them, Kody promises Meri that if she remarries, “he won’t be weird.”

However, he quickly made good on his promise when he revealed that he did big plans for Meria’s next weddings. “I have to walk her down the aisle,” Kody stated, surprising Meri.

Meri looked back on the moment on Tuesday, Dec. 10, and spoke exclusively My Weekly that she is still stunned by Kody’s comments. “He did (say that) and I was like, ‘Yeah, no,’ too.” I might have added a swear word in there, but yeah, no. That’s not happening at all,” she said of Koda’s idea. “It just doesn’t make sense.”

While it’s hard for Kody to walk his first wife and now ex down the aisle, Meri laughed off the whole thing.

“I joked with him and said, ‘Hey, the only reason you want to walk me down the aisle is to make sure they get rid of me. Please take her, take her I don’t want her back,” she added with a laugh.

Meri and Kody tied in 1990. Three years later they added a wife to the sister Janelle Brown and in 1994 Christine Brown joined the family. Meri and Kody hit a storm in their relationship after he legally divorced her in 2014 to legally marry his fourth wife Robyn Brown and adopt her children from a previous relationship.

Although Meri and Kody stayed spiritually married for the next nearly 10 years, they never fully returned to their old dynamic. After Christine, 53, and Janelle, 55, announced their splits from Kody in 2021 and 2022, respectively, Meri confirmed in January 2023 that she and Kody also called it off.

Despite the rocky end of their relationship, Meri shares a child Leon with her ex-husband, he said Our she is open to finding love again. But she ended up with polygamy.

Meri said she would “absolutely” get hitched again, but is only looking for monogamous relationships. “I just think that having someone who’s committed to me and who I’m committed to, who I can share my life with and share my experiences with is a pretty great thing,” she gloated.

Meri commented, “It’s only through the dating process that you can come to these insights, that’s what life and dating are all about. When the time is right, I will dip my toes back into the process.”

The reality star has she kept her dating life private but in the following months he said Our on Tuesday that he is “dating” but not seeing anyone exclusively. Meri teased that “people are weird“, she noted that she “doesn’t understand why people can’t be honest and sincere in their relationships”. Her fame has become another barrier to dating as some people think she has a “fake profile” or is looking for her “five minutes of fame”.

However, the failures did not deter Meri. “You have to work through it all,” she concluded.
