In a now-viral video posted via TikTok earlier this week, James shared his reaction to one of Perry’s latest songs, “OK.” Released on December 20 as part of 1432deluxe version of her recent album, 143“OK” is one of four additional tracks included on the new release.
“This can’t be the same person who knocked me out. American Idol 5 years ago,” James captioned the video, which showed him listening to the song in his car, grooving over the lyrics and looking sideways at the camera.
Fans flooded the comments section to share their own thoughts on the track, with one person writing: “It gives the Arthur theme song 😂” in reference to the children’s cartoon. James responded to this comment with a skull emoji.
James’s criticism of the former American Idol the judge comes just months after Perry, 39, faced backlash for working with the disgraced producer Dr. Cover on “Woman’s World”, one of the songs 143.
