Before hosting Dick Clark is New Year’s Eve Rockin’ Eve Seacrest, 50, appeared on ABC Good morning America talk about the show’s traditions — including when someone ends up proposing in the crowd.
“Yes, that’s something that happened almost every year,” shared over People on Monday, December 30. “Some of it makes TV, some of it doesn’t, but people love that moment when they say, ‘Will you be with me for the rest of our lives?'”
ABC correspondent Will Reevewho proposed to his longtime girlfriend Amanda Dubinova in New York last month, he joked: “I should have proposed on New Year’s Eve with Ryan. Amanda would say no.”
Seacrest jokingly replied, “There’s still time for me.”
Back in April, Wheel of Fortune the host and his longtime girlfriend Aubrey Paige they broke up after three years together. He used to have Seacrest was connected on Julianne Hough and Shayna Taylor.
In response to Seacrest’s joke on live TV, Reeve said, “You got it, Ryan. But we won’t rush you.”

Presentation of the performance by Carrie Underwood, Jonas Brothers, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton and Lenny Kravitzthe live event is expected to bring a lot of surprises. While Seacrest has been in charge of the gig for two decades, he still enjoys seeing the ball drop in New York.
“I’ll never forget that moment when. Dick Clark he said I want you to step in and take over and do this show every year,” he went on to share Good morning America before co-hosting the main event Rita Ora. “I’m looking forward to it.” I get excited every time we get to watch that ball go down.”
Seacrest admitted that “you never know what’s going to happen” as temperatures drop and a million people flock to Times Square to usher in the new year.
“We’re all in this together at that point,” he said. “Our differences at the start of the year don’t matter by a minute or two. This is something so rare and so significant and so special. It’s magical to watch.”
