Tina Knowles is getting candid about her social media use after her account “liked” a post about her son-in-law Jay-Zallegations of rape.
“Do you know how many times I’ve ‘liked’ something negative about my own children?” Knowles, 70, joked on the Tuesday, Dec. 31 episode of the show “The Run-Through With Vogue” Podcast.. “Because when I’m busy and I’m going through the thing, I’m like, ‘Oh, there’s Beyoncé with so-and-so.’ I ‘like’ that. And then the fans come back and say, ‘Miss Tina, please delete it because you ‘like’ some negative post.'”
Jokingly, she continued, “I mean, that’s what happens to 70-year-olds on social media. It’s true. I always screw it up.”
Tina, known as Mother Beyonce and Solange Knowlesmade headlines earlier this month when she seemingly “liked” an Instagram post about Jay-Z’s legal drama. She claimed shortly after her account was hackedwriting via Instagram“As you all know, I don’t play about my family. So if you see something atypical from me. Just know it’s not me!”
On Tuesday’s podcast, Tina revealed that she uses her phone’s voice-to-text feature when commenting on Instagram. However, her thick southern accent often causes the app to misjudge her words.
“I know he doesn’t understand what I’m saying and it has crazy stuff,” she said. Referring to Jay-Z, 55, she added: “My son-in-law Jay says, ‘Listen, if you’re going to read someone, at least spell your words correctly. Don’t mince your words, Mom. You can’t do that. Take the time to go here and check your spelling!’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t have time for that!'”
Tina noted that she “used” social media help from her oldest granddaughter, Blue Ivy, 12. what did you just do That’s really cool. You should delete it,” she shared, before revealing that she no longer takes Blue Ivy’s advice. “I’m like, ‘Girl, I’m on to the next thing.’ And all the comments (from fans) are like, ‘There you go again Miss Tina. Be more careful! They’re helping me.”

Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagicWhile Tina didn’t specifically address the allegations against Jay-Z on Tuesday, the self-proclaimed “protector of my children” said she will always use her social platforms to stand up for her family. (Beyoncé, 43, and Jay-Z also have twins, Rumi and Sir, 7.)
“I love it and I love what it can do for people, but the downside is that someone can make something up and say what they want to say and put it out there,” she explained. “And you know, my kids always say, ‘Mom, just ignore it.’ But at some point it gets to a point where I’m just like, ‘Sorry, that’s enough. That’s enough.” Because imagine you’re a mother and someone lies to you about your child. It’s hard to watch.”
Jay-Z (real name Shawn Carter) and Sean “Diddy” Combs they were accused of raping a 13-year-old girl at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in a lawsuit originally filed in October and refiled on December 8 to add Jay-Z. Jay-Z has vehemently he denied the charges and filed a motion to dismiss on December 9.
A judge later ruled that the victim, identified in court documents as Jane Doe, can remain anonymous in court. Jay-Z’s lawyer Alex Spiro claimed in papers filed Monday, Dec. 30, that the victim’s claims are too old to chase him.
The lawsuit is one of several filed against Diddy55, in recent months. The rapper, who has denied all allegations against him, is currently behind bars awaiting trial after being arrested and charged with sex trafficking and extortion in September.
