A seattle suburb canceled his next one “Coffee with a policeman“Event after he faced protests due to the Christian beliefs of the owner of the cafeteria.
Seattle’s radio presenter, Jason Rantz, reported that the city of SHORELINE, WASHINGTON, He canceled the community event, whose objective is to strengthen the relationship between police officers and residents, after the city’s Facebook page was flooded with negative comments from annoying liberals that Pilgrim Coffeehouse would organize the event.
Pilgrim Coffeehouse is owned by Keith Carpenter, head pastor of the Epic Life Church. The Church states that it believes that marriage is between “a man and a woman” on its website.
The commentators promised to celebrate a protest and one even requested that the cafeteria leave the city, saying that Carpenter’s opinions about marriage did not align with the ideals of the progressive city.

“He chose the Christian homophobic cafeteria!” An account called “Sounder Sam” published under the announcement of the city’s place. The same person alerted the community that a “PRO LGBTQIA2+” protest was planned out of the cafeteria the morning of the event.
Other comments accused the city of choosing a “intolerant” and “anti-LGBTQIA+” place and demanded that it be organized elsewhere.
In response to the violent reaction, Shoreline abruptly canceled the event, Rantz reported.
“It was not the intention of the department or the city to make any member of the community feel unpleasant depending on the selection of the place of the event and the values that the place may or may not have. By planning future events, we will be more intentional with our selection of the place,” wrote Shorelline City Hall in a City Council March 12 statement Posted on Facebook.

The cancellation announcement was received with mainly positive comments.
“Thank you, Shoreline! My family feels a little safer in our neighborhood now thanks to this decision,” said a comment on the Facebook publication of the City Council. Another said: “Thank you for listening and doing the right thing.”
Carpenter also responded to the cancellation publication by describing all the ways in which his church helps those in need in the community and promising that everyone would be treated with respect and dignity in their cafeteria.
He also spoke against cancellation in an interview with Rantz.
“It is a form of discrimination, surely,” Carpenter told the radio presenter, adding that he did not want to play “the victim’s letter.”

Carpenter said he could deal with online reaction, but there were also “shameless lies” about his church and cafeteria.
“We serve anyone who enters the door. I don’t even know (if they are LGBT). We don’t ask questions. Therefore, it’s a non -starter for us, because no one asks questions at the door. Anyone who walks in that space will get the same exact treatment exactly, generously and generously hospitable. And probably the best cup they will have all month or all year,” he said to Rantz.
He said that it did not “make much sense” that the city excludes its business to participate in the event and at the same time promoting its inclusive values.
“Basically he says: ‘We don’t want a pilgrim cafeteria in our city’, and publish it publicly,” Carpenter told Rantz.
“It is completely opposite to () message that they are trying to say about inclusion. It is the opposite of that, and it is difficult. It is difficult as a business,” he added.

A spokesman for the city of Shoreline told Fox News Digital: “The city is committed to being a cozy place for all people, regardless of who they are or what they believe.”
“The work of the local government focuses mainly on the basics: it is potholes, sidewalks and public safety. It is assumed that coffee with a policeman is a place where the police can speak with the residents about the police on the coast.
