Jocelyn Wildensteinthe socialite known as “Catwoman” filmed a reality TV show before her death, TMZ news.
Wildenstein died on Tuesday, December 31 in Paris at the age of 84, her partner, Lloyd Kleinhe said.
On Wednesday, Jan. 1, after news of her death broke, TMZ reported that Wildenstein had filmed the reality project last year, citing production sources, though she noted that the show had yet to close a deal with the network.
According to the outlet, the show centered around Wildenstein’s move from her Miami home to Los Angeles and Klein’s attempts to revive his Lloyd Klein Couture fashion label. The show is said to be different from the HBO documentaries, which Wildenstein first mentioned in a June 2023 interview with the British Sunday Times.
Klein said on Wednesday AFP that the Swiss socialite died in Paris while staying at a luxury hotel after suffering a pulmonary embolism. According to the Mayo Clinic, a pulmonary embolism is a blood clot that “blocks and stops blood flow” to an artery in the lungs.
“The icon is gone,” Klein told the paper, noting that he was “pained” by the loss of Wildenstein.
Before her death, Wildenstein (née Jocelyne Périsset) made headlines for her extreme plastic surgery it made her resemble a cat. The work led to her being dubbed “Catwoman”.
After her first surgery in the late 1970s, fans began comparing Wildenstein’s eye lift to a lynx she had as a pet.
Wildenstein was also known for her marriage to a billionaire art dealer Alec Wildenstein. The two married in 1978 and divorced in 1999. Their split and legal battle received heavy media coverage.
Alec said Vanity Fair at the time of their split, that he had no say in how many surgeries his wife underwent, despite reports that he encouraged her to change her appearance.
“She was crazy. I would always be the last to know,” he claimed in his own words The Times. “She thought she could fix her face like a piece of furniture. Skin doesn’t work that way. But she didn’t listen.”
Jocelyn said The Times in June 2023, Alec “hired a publicist and paid a plastic surgeon to confirm that I had completely changed my face” so he could “win the divorce”.
Wildenstein is survived by her and Alec’s children, son Alec Jr. and a daughter, Diane.
