Awards season always begins Golden Globes — and 2025 is no exception.

While the awards show is still considered the “Hollywood Party of the Year,” things have changed a bit over the past 25 years. The 2000 Golden Globes featured couples who have since broken up and dresses that are considered vintage.

As the Hollywood Foreign Press Association handed out trophies at the 57th Annual Golden Globe Awards on January 23, 2000, HBO was celebrating success Sex in the city and The Sopranos, Denzel Washington and Hilary Swank won major accolades and the still fledgling Pixar proved its mettle.
