Anthony Joshua has not given up wanting to fight the declining giant Tyson Fury and is aiming for 2025. The two former heavyweight champions find themselves in a now or never situation because they are coming off defeats and both look 100%. washing in the clinical sense.
1% vs. The Fanatics
Fans are discouraged by the idea of super rich Joshua and Fury fight now. They see it as pure greed because a confrontation between them makes no sense except for the 100 million dollars they are expected to obtain.
Who wins now between them doesn’t matter. This is a celebrity match and has nothing to do with sporting relevance. Joshua & Fury make loads of money and then do it again later this year at Wembley in London. The winner is not going to turn around and win a world title. If they fight Oleksandr Usyk again, they will lose as before.
Hopefully neither of them will be given another shot at the title because they don’t deserve it. Other heavyweights should be given a chance instead of these two spoiled guys.
Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) has not opened his mouth to say whether he will accept the upcoming fight with AJ, but given his love of money, it is expected that he will. Fury, 36, looked hellish, losing to WBA, WBC and WBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch on December 21 in Riyadh.
Fury looked like a textbook definition of a shot fighter, unable to pull the trigger, slow, fat and nowhere near the guy he had been all those years ago.
That’s not to say he was elite in his prime because he’s always been a hyped fighter. He lived off the fame of his 2015 victory over 39-year-old Wladimir Klitschko. Nine years ago, Fury fans made a big deal of that victory, believing it meant something.
“I really sincerely hope for it in 2025. It’s a fight that completes the era in many ways. We have lost the fights between Joshua and Wilder. We’ve lost the fights between Usyk and Wilder because they didn’t line up,” Gareth A. Davies said on Stomping Grounds. channelspeaking about his hopes of seeing the ‘Battle of Britain’ clash between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in 2025.
“I think if we lose Joshua-Fury from the picture in 2025, and that doesn’t happen, it would be something of a travesty for fans of British boxing and the heavyweight era. These guys (Fury and Joshua) have been on a collision course for almost 10 years or maybe more than 10 years.
“I hope it happens. Of course he does, but after a couple of months, he will feel like coming back,” Gareth said of the possibility of Fury retiring. “I think it will happen. I’m going to say 9 out of 10 it will happen in 2025. Wembley, please, in the summer, 90,000,” Gareth said of the British party between Joshua and Fury.
