Nikki Glaser he is not a stranger making controversial jokesbut there’s one hot-button issue he doesn’t plan to address when he hosts Golden Globe Awards 2025.

But Glaser doesn’t plan to include any controversial hot shots in her Sunday opening monologue.
“There are certain people we all know who don’t have a sense of humor about themselves, and if I’m supposed to make that person laugh, it shows the people in the room, ‘Okay, it’s safe to laugh,'” the comedian said Variety on Thursday. “I had a joke that I don’t think will have an ending monologue: ‘The camera will be on you. Pro tip: Just laugh. It’s a really good way for the audience at home to like you.”
Glaser added: “I don’t understand why the publicists didn’t tell them. When you laugh at a joke about yourself, you look so friendly, so cool, so likable. I’m trying to help you. That way, you don’t have to play Hip-Hop Hopscotch with Jimmy Fallon to look relatable.”
The 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards airs live on Sunday, January 5, 2025 on CBS at 8:00 PM ET. The ceremony will also be broadcast live on Paramount+.
