In the last few years, several big blockbusters have been achieved sealed popcorn buckets attracting audiences to theaters. Sunday, Jan. 19 will be National Popcorn Day, and the theater chain will mark the occasion with a first-ever “Bring your own bucket” day. You can get XL popcorn for $5 at all Cinemark locations, as long as the container is clean and does not exceed 400 ounces. That day, it’s offering 10% off all online gift cards, and anyone who follows the chain’s Instagram can enter a contest to win a free large popcorn by tagging three friends in the comments.

“National Popcorn Day is one of the best days of the year at Cinemark and for popcorn lovers everywhere,” said David Haywood, Cinemark’s Food Assistant. “Although Popcorn Bowls has become an award-winning supporting actor, he has always been the star of movie theater concessions. We’re excited to encourage everyone to get creative with this campaign and show off their dish choices while enjoying an iconic snack alongside a great movie.”
