Director Jeff Baena, husband of actress Aubrey Plaza, has died by suicide, the medical report says

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Hollywood writer and director Jeffrey Baena, who was married to actress Aubrey Plaza, died by suicide, the Los Angeles County medical examiner said in a report released over the weekend.

Baena, 47, died at his residence on Jan. 3. The medical examiner said the cause of death was “hanging.” Baena has written and directed films including “Life of Beth” and “Horse Girl” and wrote “I Heart Huckabees”. Plaza, who found fame as a carefree office worker on the television series “Parks and Recreation,” appeared in the Francis Ford (NYSE: ) Coppola film “Megalopolis” and the series “The White Lotus.”
