Christina and Josh Hall battle over flipped drama on social media

Christina Hall and Josh Hall had an intense social media exchange regarding the drama on their new show, Flip Off function.

“TFW you can’t get enough reviews from famous 🏠 designers so you created drama with me no one,” Josh, 44, wrote via his Instagram Story on Monday, January 6, seemingly referring to intense exchange between exes in the trailer for the series. “@hgtv you’ve changed.”

Christina (41) then returned fire on her estranged husband.

“Made?! I’m sure no one at Hgtv told you that you were rude to me…” she responded via her own Instagram story alongside a screenshot of Josh’s post. “It was all natural.

After defending herself and the show, Christina also shared a selfie she took from the set where she looked visibly upset.

“This was taken on June 21, 2024. After one of my photo shoots with Josh,” she captioned a selfie of herself crying. “This is ‘real’ and it reminds me that I deserve better.”

Earlier this month, fans got a taste of what to expect from the upcoming series’ inaugural season. In a first look clipJosh and Christina had a tense moment as they drove to the project before their split in July 2024.

“This is a competition, you have to go all out. Whatever it takes to win, I’ll do it,” Josh told Christina in the video, continuing to yell, “Halls rule!”

Christina was apparently not amused by Josh’s antics and remained silent in the passenger seat. Josh then reminded her that they were a team now. (Except for Christina and Josh, Flip Off function also features Christina’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his new wife, ex I’m selling the Sunst star Heather Rae El Moussa.)

“Don’t let what your last name is fool you in this competition,” he said, before calling Christina “rude.”

Christina then shared that she just “doesn’t talk,” which seemingly upset Josh even more. “You know how much s— you talk and I’m just like, ‘I wish you’d shut up?'” he replied.

The trailer ended with Christina meeting Tarek (43), who immediately noticed that something was wrong with his ex-wife.

“I know that look. what’s up? are you okay?” Tarek asked. Christina pauses before revealing that she and Josh have “officially broken up.”

Christina and Josh tied the knot in April 2022. Before they got hitched Flip Off functionon which the pair worked together Christina in the countrysidewhich followed Christine’s renovation projects in Tennessee. Josh also appeared on Christina on the coastwhich focused on the HGTV star’s renovation work in California.

After Christina and Josh filed for divorce in July 2024, Josh’s role in Flip Off function was reduced. My Weekly confirmed at the time that since the series was already “in production”, Christina, Tarek and Heather, 37, had “moved forward with the show without” Josh.

Josh and Christina have yet to finalize their divorce and their court proceedings are ongoing.

Flip Off function premieres on HGTV on Wednesday, January 29th at 8pm ET and is available to stream on Max and Discovery+ the same day.
