Things are about to get crazy

On December 19, 2001, The Fellowship of the Ring hit theaters and nerd culture changed forever.

If you’re like me, you associate these movies with the holidays and are about to re-watch all three movies (extended editions, of course).

I was watching it again togetherness recently, and I had a funny thought.

While in the Mines of Moria, Gandalf is reading the last entry in the book Mazarbul, the diary of Balin and his dwarven friends and their expeditions – and disappearance – inside the mines:

We can’t get out:

The end is coming soon.

we hear drums drums in the deep.

They are coming…

I couldn’t help but laugh as I watched this scene, thinking that current gym goers were worried about the crowds that would come in January:

“They’re coming…”

Right now, millions and millions of people are ready for “new year, new me.”

Many of these people, perhaps including you, have decided that January 1st will be the day you go back to the gym or start your workout routine again.

I think this is it BIG!

Research shows that having a “fresh start” or choosing specific milestones like January 1st can be beneficial for making changes.

However, there’s a problem: “going to the gym regularly” isn’t a one-size-fits-all decision.

Eleven decisions must be made:

  • Which gym will you go to?
  • Will you be changing at home or in the changing room?
  • How is the parking situation?
  • What time of day is best for you?
  • What level of gym membership will you get?
  • Will you choose classes or train alone?
  • What equipment will you use?
  • Do you know how to use that equipment?
  • Will you shower at the gym or at home?
  • How many times a week will you train?
  • What if they are using your equipment?

If you find that the gym causes fear or anxiety, doing ALL of this in January is like playing a video game on Legend Difficulty:

The equipment you want to use may be busy.

The parking situation can be a nightmare.

The class you want to take may be full.

You will look for any excuse as to why you can’t do something. If a gym scares you or makes you nervous because it’s crowded, then your brain will tell you to stay home and never enter.

I know right now your brain is telling you “Wait until January 1st…” before you try again.

It’s okay!

However! If you are willing to take a few steps NOW, you will have a much better chance of success in the future.

So here’s the challenge…

Join today, but don’t even work!

This is the PERFECT opportunity to enter without ,It added to the pressure of the ENTIRE POPULATION,:

This allows you to remove all EXTRA decisions:

which gym, where to park, what time of day you will go, etc.

I’m a big fan of Terry Crews’ tips for building a gym habit:

“Go to the gym, sit down, read a magazine and then go home. And do this every day. Go to the gym, don’t even work out. just GO

Because the habit of going to the gym is more important than training. Because he doesn’t care what you do.

You can have fun, but as long as you’re having fun, you keep doing it.’

Try these next two weeks as an unexpected beta test!

There is no training routine to follow.

You are making sure you know where the equipment is and how it works

You are doing the dry work that would be done in the morning or at night.

You don’t have to beat yourself up about not being completely consistent.

Instead, you now focus on building the hardest part of the routine (getting in the car or walking to the gym and opening the door).

That means you can hit it hard on January 1st. And never underestimate how powerful a moment can be.

I am NOT above bribing you!
