One of Meghan MarkleFriends offer a glimpse into the Duchess of Sussex’s life as a mother before her new Netflix show.
“Had the pleasure of meeting @meghan over food and let me tell you she and her famous significant other are some of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met,” the chef Adrian Lipscombe wrote over Instagram on Monday, January 6 “We talked about our families (mostly about our daughters being in the princess phase and the movies they love) and of course food.”
Markle and prince harry share Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. It’s unclear if the royal couple’s children will appear in the Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming Netflix show, titled With love, Meghan.
Recalling her conversations with Markle, Lipscombe remembered Markle as a mother who was both kind and thoughtful.
“She didn’t rush the conversation even though I was taking up her time,” she said. “(Markle) was gracious, engaged and gracious.”
Lipscombe felt compelled to speak out after seeing a negative article about Markle’s upcoming TV show based on a sneak peek.
Netflix came out on January 2nd first trailer from With love, Meghan. The nearly two-minute clip offered a glimpse into Markle’s life in California — including a sweet moment with her husband.
According to Netflix’s official logline, the show “reimagines the genre of lifestyle programming,” with Markle at the forefront “combining hands-on tutorials and honest conversation with friends.”
After highlighting an article that said, “I’m sick of Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series,” Lipscombe said she decided to speak out.
“How are you going to criticize someone or judge a TV show before it’s even aired?” she said. “And let’s talk about the bigger picture here—where are the performances and roles of black women in the food world? Representation is already so rare, and now a show that has the potential to highlight food, culture and storytelling is being ripped apart before it even has a chance. This isn’t just about Meghan Markle. This is a systemic problem in media and entertainment that continues to dismiss or trivialize the efforts of women, especially women of color, to create something meaningful.”
After return to Instagram on beginning of 2025Markle apparently he ignored the critics and instead expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to work on a personal project.
“I’m so excited to share this with you!” she he wrote through the app on January 3. “I hope you enjoy the show as much as I do. We wish you all a fantastic new year! Thank you to our amazing @netflix crew and team. We are extremely grateful for the support – and the fun!”
With love, Meghan premieres on Netflix on Wednesday, January 15.
